Baking soda and vinegar – key to effective cleaning of vintage thermos

Cleaning vintage thermos could be a bit more complicated than other liquid containers. Each cleaning solution only requires a few ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen or bathroom.

If a vintage thermos is neglected and a simple wash with dish detergent and water doesn’t work, other ingredients shall be called in. White vinegar and baking soda solution could easily help get rid of any stains.

Firstly, pour vinegar into the thermos and dump in one or two tablespoons of baking soda depending on how many cups the flask contains. Swish the thermos with the baking soda and vinegar inside, holding it over the sink in case the solution foams over. Do not place the cap on the spout.
