Vietnam’s Rang Dong Assists University IoT Training
Rang Dong, fully known as Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company, and the Hanoi-based Dong A (East Asia) University of Technology launched the intensive Internet of Things (IoT) training program on December 24, 2025. The initiative furthered their commitments in a strategic cooperation agreement signed in October 2024.
The program empowers the university to independently operate and develop a complete Smart Home ecosystem. Beyond conventional coursework, the training was tasked to provide students with the skills to master, maintain and innovate on Rang Dong's full IoT platform.
Training Modules
The IoT training spans 34 in-depth sessions, progressing from foundational theory to complete technology ownership.
Rang Dong has transferred the entire Smart Home/IoT ecosystem through three core competency layers:
Infrastructure mastery: Cloud IoT core server – covering secure data handling, device connectivity and scalable cloud architecture.
Management and operations: App and web admin platforms – enabling full control over user interfaces, device provisioning, remote monitoring and system administration.
Device-level expertise: Firmware and hardware development – including embedded programming, sensor integration, wireless protocols and hardware customization.
Smart Home is a technology solution allowing the connection and operation of domestic appliances in order to bring customers a comfortable, secure, healthy, economical and environmentally friendly life.
Rang Dong’s Smart Home ecosystem brings a number of benefits, including reducing energy consumption, providing smart lighting and boosting security via smart and automated control.
The training will give students the ability to troubleshoot, upgrade and expand IoT solutions independently, fostering self-reliance and innovation within the university.
Strategic Partnership
The training builds on the bilateral strategic cooperation agreement, which included the inauguration of a modern IoT practice laboratory fully sponsored by Rang Dong. The laboratory, equipped with advanced tools and Rang Dong devices, has already served as a critical platform for hands-on learning and research.
The collaboration that began last December enabled the university to train future engineers, conduct applied research, and contribute to Vietnam's growing IoT ecosystem.
By transferring proprietary knowledge and best practices, Rang Dong supports the development of high-quality domestic tech talent capable of driving national digital transformation.
The program aligns with national priorities to strengthen human resources in smart technologies, promote industry-academia partnerships and accelerate IoT adoption across sectors.
Graduates can implement secure, efficient Smart Home solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Rang Dong's role as technology provider and knowledge partner underscores its commitment to nurturing Vietnam's tech ecosystem. By enabling educational institutions to operate advanced IoT platforms, the company contributes to a more innovative, self-reliant, and competitive digital future for the country.
The Rang Dong-Dong A University of Technology collaboration sets a model for meaningful industry-university synergies, where shared expertise accelerates progress toward a connected, intelligent society.
