What is Hibiscus Tea?

Hibiscus tea made from dried parts of the hibiscus flower is ruby red and known as Zobo drink. The flavors are sweet and tart, similar to cranberry.

How to make hibiscus tea
Ingredients:

1/2 cup of dried hibiscus flowers

8 cups of water

1 cup honey, or more depending of taste

Instructions: Place the dried hibiscus flowers and water in a pot. Let it steep for 20-30 minutes. You can add some of your favorite flavors to this tea like other herbs, mint, honey and lemon juice etc. Strain the tea. If mint is used, lay the leaves face-up in the palm and slap them by clapping the hands. It is a technique used by bartenders to release the flavor and aroma of the mint.
The tea can also be chilled in the refrigerator for several hours before serving.
