Tips on using stainless steel thermos flask
The stainless steel thermos flask has won the trust by many customers thanks to its excellent heat retention function, compactness, durability and simple operation. However, if not used and stored properly, the flask is also susceptible to damage, thus reducing its functions, and more seriously, adversely affecting user's health. This article will give readers some tips on how to use, maintain and clean the best stainless steel thermos flask.
Using
Improper use and cleaning of stainless steel thermos is the leading reason why stainless steel thermos flasks no longer function as they did at first. It is not recommended to use it when it is hot or cold, only use a special bottle to keep hot or cold because when the temperature changes suddenly, the bottle will be easily damaged.
Before using a new thermos for the first time, the bottle should be washed with clean water, and rinsed with warm water. Next, use a bit of dishwashing liquid or vinegar to remove the smell. Finally use warm water to remove the odor of the bottle.
For a daily-use thermos, before keeping cold water, users should put a little cold water in the bottle, rinse well and leave it for 2 minutes for the bottle to adapt to the temperature, and then pour cold water in. For hot water, we also do the same to avoid damaging the bottle. We should not fill up the bottle with water, the best level is about 2 cm from the mouth of the bottle, to ensure its longer life.
After use, rinse the bottle with water immediately to avoid leaving it for too long that could make the bottle smelly. We should use soft items to clean the bottle, then leave it on the shelf to dry to prevent bacteria from thriving.
Preservation
To properly store the thermos, users should note a few things as follows:
- In the process of use, avoiding impact, otherwise too strong force will distort the bottle, causing the 2 metal layers to collide, reducing the space between them, and resulting in reduced heat retention
- We should not constantly change the temperature of the flask. If we are storing cold water and want to change to hot water, we should leave it for about 10-15 minutes before pouring hot water in. Any sudden change in temperature will cause the material in the tank to suddenly expand and shrink, reducing the service life as well as affecting the quality of use.
- Clean immediately after use, then store in a cool, dry place to avoid creating conditions for bacteria to multiply.
Some notes when cleaning the stainless steel thermos flask:
- Absolutely do not use strong detergents, or corrosive solutions such as bleach, acetone, etc. for cleaning.
- Clean the bottle, the lid and seals. Once done, leave the bottle open and let it drain.
