Types of water bottles and their impact on health
In this fast-paced world, a water bottle is equally essential as our wallet, cell phone or the car key since it is the best way to ensure we get enough water for the day. Water bottles vary, depending on their material, be it glass, stainless steel, plastic or insulated disposable. The list is endless and consumers often wonder which is the best water bottle. We have some tips below on what makes a good water bottle.
Glass water bottle
Rang Dong glass water bottle, model RD-045G1/G2, is marketed in several colors.
Glass is considered a safe material and the best for storing both food and liquids. Water in glass bottles is not affected by any taste, so the "pure taste" is retained when compared to plastic and other types of bottles. Glass also brings more peace of mind to users because it is chemical free, made from natural materials and is dishwasher safe. On the other hand, plastics and some metals contain bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical warned by the Food and Drug Administration in 2010 due to its association with cancer.
Plastic portable water bottle, BPA Free
Plastic portable water bottles, model 05P1 and 07P1, are produced by Rang Dong, Vietnam’s leading manufacturer of vacuum flask products.
Many people simply choose plastic water bottles as their everyday item thanks to the attractive look, light weight and low cost. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when buying this type of bottle. Most notably, please make sure they are BPA-free, as many plastic bottles contain the harmful chemical compound. We should also be careful when using plastic bottles, as they are more likely to warp than other types, which is another reason glass or metal bottle is highly recommended.
Stainless steel bottle

"Food-grade" stainless steel is used to make this type of water bottle. It comes in many different sizes and colors. There are no known safety concerns regarding the use of stainless steel, assuming it is truly stainless and lead-free. Compared to the water from glass bottles, some users think water from steel bottles has a metallic taste. Another point for consideration is that the liquids stored in a stainless steel bottle could heat up in summer.
Aluminum water bottle
Aluminum bottles look similar to stainless steel ones, but in fact, they are highly different. Aluminum reacts to acidic liquids so aluminum bottles must be lined with an enamel or epoxy that can wear down over time. BPA is often the main ingredient used in epoxy, which means aluminum water bottles may not be safe for long-term use. Like stainless steel, aluminum bottles will also dent from a drop, and it's not dishwasher safe. This should be the last option to use before buying disposable plastic bottled water.
