Vietnam’s Rang Dong pursues green and digital transformation
Established in 1961, Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company has this year marked its 63-year development, starting from production of light bulbs and thermoses to now holding the leading position in Vietnam’s market of producing LED products, vacuum flasks and providing smart lighting solutions.
The company’s green and digital transformation began in 2020 and has since been accelerating, despite major difficulties such as the global pandemic, instability in Europe which all had disrupted the supply chain.
Rang Dong has achieved an annual revenue growth of 15-20 percent in the four-year period ending 2023 and the company has won many domestic awards, prizes and titles for success in technology solutions, innovation and digital transformation.
The success included the ranking among the country’s top 10 pioneering companies in digital technology implementation in 2023 and a recognition by the Information and Communications Ministry for outstanding achievements in digital transformation in the 2020-2023 period.
Revenues last year rose around 20 percent from a year ago to VND 8.33 trillion (USD 341 million), and the company’s net profit growth in 2023 also posted a 20-percent rate, reaching VND 584.27 billion.
Net profit in the first quarter of 2024 rose 6.7 percent from a year ago to VND 194.66 billion, while revenues in the three-month period jumped nearly 33 percent from the same period last year to VND 2.84 trillion.
Leading technology solutions
Last year Rang Dong’s RalliSmart smart home solution won a domestic award, the Sao Khue Prize, in the category of leading technology solutions and services.
At its 9th Technology Day held on April 26 in Hanoi, Rang Dong experts presented the company’s latest smart home technology that integrates Smart Building Management Systems with RalliSmart.

The TechDay, held twice a year, is aimed at stimulating Rang Dong employees’ innovation. The event this year not only marked the 60th anniversary since President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Rang Dong, but also the 20th milestone since the company restructured to become a joint stock enterprise.
Rang Dong’s strong green and digital transformation, aimed at meeting both domestic and international consumer demands for eco-friendly products, has led to significant growth in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, economists joining the April event have said.
Rang Dong's LED products with 121 models have been certified by the Industry and Trade Ministry as the “Top Efficiency Products” each year in the 2020-2023 period.
Its flasks have won certificates by international organizations SGS and LFGB for being free from 209 harmful substances and food contact safety.
Additionally, the company’s glass melting furnaces operate with electric arcs, achieving thermal efficiency over 75 percent, with no smokestack emissions or dust, contributing significantly to environmental protection.
