Notes while choosing the best teapot for families

Picking the best teapot can be a challenge, given the appliance is over popular and there are hundreds of types, thousands of styles, and sizes available in the market. Without knowing basic principles, users may easily end up with a collection, while the best teapot for families remains absent. Let's go through some key points.

Types of teapots

A teapot is a vessel used to make tea by steeping tea leaves in hot water. Its function is different from that of a kettle, which is used only to boil water, therefore the two appliances can't be interchangeable.

Teapots are classified according to their country of origin, the material, the era to which they belong, and so on. When selecting the best teapot for families, the two most significant factors to consider are the material and the country of origin.

Glass teapots

A fine glass teapot is an excellent addition to any teapot collection. They are excellent for brewing nearly any sort of tea and are required for brewing blooming or blossoming teas. Glass teapots come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be fitted with glass or metal filters, or without any filter.

Teapots from cast iron

A Japanese teapot called tetsubin is the best example of a cast iron teapot. But not all tetsubins are teapots. Traditional tetsubins were used to boil water because they changed its taste while enhancing the tea flavor. Both cast iron teapots and cast iron kettles are now referred to as tetsubin. Cast iron teapots, on the other hand, have an enamel coating and are used for brewing tea rather than boiling water, and therefore may serve ornamental reasons better.

Ceramic teapots

Porous ceramics, glazed ceramics, stoneware, porcelain, and other materials are used to make teapots. Brewing tea in ceramic teapots may leave a small layer of the inner coating on them over time. As a result, they should only be used for one type of tea.

Stoneware, the other form of ceramic, is non-porous and can be used to make several varieties of tea. Porcelain, another type of ceramic, is a thin, complex material that should be handled with caution.

Stainless steel teapots

The greatest advantage of stainless steel teapots may be their ability to retain heat. This implies that our tea will stay hotter for a longer period than if it is brewed in a glass teapot. Stainless steel is also the most durable material, which won't fracture or break from impacts or hot water.

Tea taste vs. teapot

Teapots can leave an impact on the taste of our tea. Glass or non-porous ceramics are the materials which are unlikely to change the flavor, while for various reasons, cast iron, stainless steel, and porous ceramics may have influence on the taste.

To begin, always purchase high-quality, non-toxic teaware. Materials used to make low-cost teapots may not always be safe or may deteriorate over time. Next, if not constructed of stainless steel, metal teapots may rust. The best teapot for families would be made from porous ceramics, in case we stick to one variety of tea.
