Vietnam's Rang Dong Wins Technology Innovation Prizes
Rang Dong, fully known as Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask JSC, received two awards out of the 47 winning projects at the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Awards 2023 held on May 30 in Hanoi.
The Hanoi-based company is Vietnam’s leading manufacturer of LED lights and vacuum flasks as well as a major provider of smart lighting solutions.
A second prize was awarded to Rang Dong's project on “Enhancing glass material production technology with fully electric furnaces for export-standard thermos and glass flasks”.
Rang Dong's project on “Developing a green-smart lighting system using solar energy integrated with IoT and AI for border and island areas” won a third prize at the event.
The awards recognize projects for their innovation, applicability, economic efficiency, and societal benefits.

The awards played a key role in advancing Vietnam's scientific progress and encouraging research and innovation, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang spoke at the award ceremony attended by Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and industry officials.
Le Quang Huy, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment (1st left on the front row), and Chau Van Minh, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, presented the second prize to Rang Dong's author group.
