Rang Dong runs Vietnam's sole vacuum flask factory

The entire process of making a vacuum flask, from melting glass to assembling a flask, is a complex operation. That's why only three countries in the world are now keeping such operation in place, namely China, India and Vietnam. Little we know of this flask making process, so let's take a look at Rang Dong's production at its vacuum flask factory. 

Rang Dong’s vacuum flask factory has 60-year operation 

Established in 1961, the vacuum flask factory has gone through many improvements and is now located in Bac Ninh province's Que Vo industrial zone.

The factory owns two electric glass furnaces, one of Rang Dong's prides, which melt and make purified glass from raw materials. The furnaces don't emit carbon dioxide (CO2) or sulfur dioxide (SO2) since they are operated fully by electricity. 

Stacks of finished products - vacuum flasks - are waiting before being packed at Rang Dong's factory in Que Vo industrial zone. 

Two lines for bottom sealing and six lines for waist sealing make a complete glass liner. The two sealing technologies operate parallelly and can produce as many as more than 50 million glass refills per year. Rang Dong has also invested in 17 plastic compressors and four stainless steel handling machines to make the outer case of vacuum flasks. The company often conducts training to improve skills and knowledge for workers, whose skills are tested before they are assigned to work on production lines. 

Rang Dong’s diverse vacuum flasks 

Rang Dong’s vacuum flask factory makes a diverse output, including tea pots and coffee pots with capacity ranging from one liter to 1.5 liters. Other products include polypropylene water bottles, airpots with modern and luxurious style, individual flasks with optional types, and traditional vacuum flasks. These vacuum flasks can keep hot for 12 hours and cold for 24 hours. They are suitable for families, offices, parties and restaurants while all ages and genders can use them.

Rang Dong’s vacuum flask factory amid the pandemic 

Rang Dong’s vacuum flask factory covers an area of eight hectares. Apart from the production zone, the company retains a large part of land to build a football yard, large internal roads and small parks for recreational purposes. In order to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, Rang Dong has prepared enough accommodation for more than 300 employees to live in the factory in order to prevent the virus from spreading while ensuring a smooth operation of the vacuum flask factory.
