Tips on how to clean the coffee pot easily
Cleaning the coffee pot can be a challenging task. With water residues, even if the user has a strong brush, it is difficult to wash them off when they have stuck to the glass refill. Instead of trying to scrub, which can damage the special coating on the inside of the pot, an acidic solution will gently dissolve the mineral deposits. After that, users just need to rinse and the pot will shine. Let's find out in the article below some tips on how to clean the coffee pot simply and properly.
Baking soda
We can use several materials to clean the coffee pot, including baking soda, lemon or white vinegar, eggshells, plain rice or green tea leaves.
Most coffee pots are made of aluminum, so a teaspoon of baking soda can be added and boiled for a few minutes to remove the residue. Users can also pour 1% baking soda, add 500 ml of water, and gently wipe the bottom of the kettle to clean.
Lemon or white vinegar
White vinegar or lemon juice that contains acetic acid will help loosen mineral deposits. After filling the pot with vinegar/lemon and distilled water, let it sit for an hour. If the thermos is extremely dirty, users need to increase the soaking time by about 30 minutes.
After an hour of soaking the kettle, turn it on to bring the kettle to a boil. After boiling, continue to leave the warm lemon water mixture in the jar for another 20 to 30 minutes to help further loosen mineral deposits. After the water cools completely, rinse it with clean water a few times. Mineral deposits will be wiped off while the coffee pot may smell lemon.
Eggshells
Eggshells are also effective in removing the sticky residue in the pot easily. Crack the eggshells and place them in the pot, then pour about half a thermos of water, stir well with chopsticks, and cook for about half an hour. Remove the eggshells, and wipe it twice, the residue will be taken out.
Plain rice
Place a handful of unwashed rice into a thermos, then fill it with boiling water and let it sit for about 12 hours.
When the time is up, let's take out the water and rice in the thermos. Then pour hot water to rinse the coffee pot to remove all the rice grains. At that time, we could see the inside of the thermos as shiny as if it was new.
Green tea leaves
Place a handful of tea leaves into the thermos and pour hot boiling water into it and soaks it for 24 hours. After 24 hours, we pour it out and rinse it with boiling water, if it is not completely clean, we should repeat the process once or two more times.
This is a very effective way to remove residue in the coffee pot while it is very rare to repeat this operation a second time. Except in the case that the thermos has been left with too much residue and precipitated, it should be done once or 2 more times.
